Are You Becoming Extinct?

For a few years I’ve been asking people; “What will your industry look like in 2030?” This had me think long and hard about what the real estate industry would look like. We came up with an industry vision, and began working towards it.

I personally don’t see mainstream real estate as part of that future vision – unless they change. It’s been my opinion for some time that the time of offices, admin-heavy old-school agencies 50/50 commission splits will pass, creating room for the innovative, agile, low-overhead, lower commission individuals, partnerships and businesses to rise.

The pandemic was a massive surprise to everyone – a huge shake up in every industry – and it’s accelerated what I thought real estate would look like in 2030 to today (minus the cool VR gadgets!).

My message is simple, borrowed from Spencer Johnson (author of “Who Moved My Cheese”); “If you do not change, you can become extinct!”

You’re doing it wrong if you and your business / industry is doing exactly what you did back in Feb 2020.
